Turkish Justice March

The leader of Turkey’s main opposition party, CHP’s “Republican People’s Party,” Kemal Kilicdaroglu, began his “Justice March” in the capital city of Ankara on June 15, 2017. He headed towards Istanbul to protest the jailing of a lawmaker and the erosion of laws under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

This march is the biggest democratic protest in Turkey against the Justice and Development Party (AKP) since 2002. Kilicdaroglu walked 430 km with his supporters and ended the march with a rally in Istanbul.
