The photographers of the prestigious photo agency VII created in 2001 by seven of the world’s leading photojournalists and now representing 19 of the world’s preeminent photojournalists whose careers span 35 years of world history, will teach a series of workshops at the Italian photo school – latest addition to the international circuit of the Leica academies that has branches in Germany, France, UK, USA, Russia, Singapore and Australia.
Davide Monteleone, Franco Pagetti, Tomas van Houtryve and Jocelyn Bain Hogg, will hold a series of four workshops. Workshops will focus on different subjects, but all will profit of the great experience of the chosen photographers, to allow participants to discover their full potential through the analysis of inspirational works , sessions of shooting and editing, and group discussions. Each participant will be given the opportunity to work with a Leica M camera or lens Monochrom for the duration of the course.
“The Her World Young Woman Achiever award was launched in 1999 and recognizes a young woman who aims higher and reaches further to achieve more. Her achievements have surpassed existing boundaries, inspiring those around her and paving the way for others in the future. She has also demonstrated the potential for attaining a higher level of success in her chosen field.” On October 17, 2014 Her World hosted an ceremonyto honor this year’s winners of the Woman of the Year and Young Woman Achiever awards.
Chi Yin was honored for her achievements in photography and passion for social justice. Her World Plus writes in the award announcement, “What Chi Yin has done with this fascination with the world has been extraordinary, a transmogrification that’s perhaps the ultimate distillation of photography as art: “Today, I am still often awed and excited by what taking a picture really is: capturing that magical instant where time, light and human life intersect.”
“When all is said and done, the Her World Young Woman Achiever award is accorded to women who are go-getters and ahead of the game; whose achievements in their working and public lives have made a mark on society.” Congratulations to Sim Chi Yin!
