The feature-length film BRICK, co-directed by VII’s Jessica Dimmock, has been awarded a grant from Chicken & Egg pictures. BRICK explores the experience of being a transgendered woman against the backdrop of post-industrial logging towns in the Pacific Northwest. The film visits the annual “Esprit” conference that takes place on the Olympic peninsula annually. With a 41 percent statistical chance of attempting suicide, these women live with an incredible burden. Esprit helps them to deal with that burden and gives them a chance to be known as their true selves by others.
