Iraq through a lens, darkly.
Night vision has brought a new perspective to the viewer. Firmly attached to my camera by means
of duct tape, dental floss, and occasionally chewing gum, the U.S. military supplied Night Vision
Goggles (NVG) reveal a darker Iraq of abandoned streets and nighttime military raids, of cowering
civilians and anxious soldiers.
Like Iraq Perspectives I, these images were also made through a barrier, a technology that allows
only a few to pierce the darkness of the Iraqi night. The rest of Iraq, like the rest of us, are left in the dark.
