Ed Kashi has accepted an invitation to be a juror for the 2014 FotoEvidence Book Awards. In addition to Kashi, Regina Monfort, Marcel Saba, Mikko Takkunen and Svetlana Bachevanova will also jury the contest.
The annual FotoEvidence Book Award recognizes a documentary photographer whose project demonstrates courage and commitment in addressing a violation of human rights, a significant injustice or an assault on human dignity. Past winners include Robin Hammond’s Condemned: Mental Health in African Countries in Crisis and Alex Masi’s Bhopal Second Disaster. The Book Award winner and up to four other selected finalists will be exhibited on the FotoEvidence website and at a gallery exhibition in New York City during the fall of 2014.
