VII has been committed to education and vocational training since it was founded in 2001 and has a reputation for innovation in this field. We take education very seriously and in addition to the vibrant program of seminars, workshops and masterclasses you see here, a number of our members have created and direct undergraduate and graduate level degree courses at universities in Europe and the United States. With our partner the VII Foundation, we are building a new educational institution, and over the coming months, we will be announcing exciting new developments in higher education and vocational training.
Creating a safe learning environment for our students and mentees is of paramount importance to VII and over the last few months we have created an ethical code for our workshop teachers and mentors that we will rigorously enforce. All official VII workshops and education experiences are governed by this code. We believe that we are the first photo agency to implement such a code and we encourage student and teacher participation and feedback in improving it over time.
We are pleased to introduce a series of workshops and masterclasses aimed at amateur and professional photographers for 2018. Our education program is accessible and designed to welcome students of different skill levels and experience. The program includes seminars, short workshops of 3 days to 9 days, and masterclasses that are serialized over a period of months. A limited number of scholarships underwritten by our partner the VII Foundation are available to students from the majority world and post-conflict societies. Details of these are available on the individual workshop pages.
The VII Online Bookstore features rare, limited edition, and signed photography books by the photographers of VII.
