How do I become a member of VII?

VII is a membership agency owned by the photographers we represent. New members are elected by the agency’s photographers on an occasional basis. There is no fixed schedule for electing new members. Rather, we will post a call for portfolios on our website when the occasion arises. Please check back from time to time and follow our News and Events page for the latest announcements from VII. We are always pleased when people are interested in joining VII and regret that we do not have the capacity to accept members more frequently.

What is the VII Mentor Program?

The VII Mentor Program seeks to provide professional development for emerging photographers whom the members of VII consider to be among the brightest new talents in the industry. For two years, selected mentees work with a senior member of VII to build and polish necessary skills and to expand his or her own professional practice. During their participation in the program, VII promotes and distributes the work of mentee photographers as it would the work by any of its members, offering another platform for Mentor Program photographers to advance their careers through industry networking. To be considered for the VII Mentor Program, photographers must first be nominated by at least one current VII member photographer. Those selected to participate in the program are offered a sponsorship with a current VII member photographer who will serve as a primary mentor for the duration of the two-year program.

The photographers currently in the program include:

  • Gazi Nafis Ahmed
  • Laura El-Tantawy
  • Sim Chi Yin

  • Jost Franko
  • Amanda Rivkin
