The Poetry Foundation in Chicago, publisher of Poetry magazine, has granted Eliza Griswold and Seamus Murphy the Editors Prize for Feature Article for their contributions to the June 2013 issue, Landays, dedicated to the poetry of the women of Afghanistan.

Griswold, a Guggenheim fellow, is the author of a collection of poems, Wideawake Field, and a nonfiction book, The Tenth Parallel: Dispatches from the Fault-line between Christianity and Islam, which was awarded the Anthony J. Lukas Prize in non-fiction. Photographer and filmmaker Seamus Murphy began photographing Afghanistan in 1994, leading to the book A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan.
