Presented by VII photo and The European Azerbaijan Society, Ed Kashi presents photographs that document the roughly 875,000 Azerbaijanis who were displaced by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict following the breakup of the Soviet Union. These photographs chronicle their lives as refugees and internally displaced people, over two decades later.
“What I observed in western Azerbaijan, among the small portion of the nearly one million Azeris who were displaced by the conflict two decades ago, are a people who are aching to return to their homes,” Kashi says of his experience working on this project.
