with Ed Kashi & Franco Pagetti
March 26, 2015, 2:30 – 4:00 pm
Paul Robeson Campus Center
Award-winning photojournalists Ed Kashi and Franco Pagetti will discuss their experience covering the revolution, focusing particularly on “Veiled Aleppo,” Franco’s haunting photographs of the sheets that line the war-torn streets of Aleppo, Syria. Before the war, residents used these sheets for privacy or to protect their homes from harsh weather. Today they shield the residents of Aleppo from the view of Bashar al-Assad’s security force snipers.
Additional events to follow, including a panel discussion and live performance by Malek Jandali.
The events are free, but space is limited. RSVP required.
